Hi, I’m Mackenzie!
Mackenzie Perkins, MT-BC, is a board-certified music therapist and the director of MPMT Center. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Following her four-year degree and completion of a music therapy internship at The Center for Music Therapy and Wellness, Mackenzie became board-certified in January 2016. Mackenzie provided clinical music therapy sessions for clients of all ages and abilities and rendered clinical supervision for practicum students. After returning to her hometown of Saint Louis, Mackenzie provided music therapy services for older adults in assisted care and rehabilitation at Surrey Place of Saint Luke’s Hospital and served as the music therapist on staff at Miriam Academy providing services for students with unique needs in an academic setting.
Mackenzie has experience in individual and group settings including developmental disabilities, early childhood intervention, speech and language deficits, traumatic brain injury, physical and neurological rehabilitation, emotional and mood disturbances, foster and residential care youth and adolescents, independent and assisted living, memory and dementia care, and hospice.
Mackenzie currently practices in Wildwood, Missouri where she lives with her husband, Clayton. They have two wonderful children - Essen and Lachlan - and an amazing rescue dog, Bodhi.
Nationally board certified by the CBMT, demonstrating competence and current practice modalities in music therapy.
